LEAP helps young people with the final steps toward independence. Each young person will develop independent living goals with the assistance of a caseworker. To be eligible, a young person must be: leaving out of homecare (or have previously been under the parental responsibility of the Minister), aged between 17.5 to 20.5, receiving an income to pay bills and rent, engaged in a vocational program or employment, able to live independently in shared house environment, can display age appropriate living skills.
